I purchased the everydays a weekend dress along with the added fitted bodice pattern. Having made the EDAW dress which I love. I decided to give the fitted bodice a try. I like it better. I did allow a bit more ease in the waistline just to be sure to have enough room and it has worked out well.
I used my overlocker for the gathering and I love this method.
I used elastic in the waist as well.
Love both dresses and will get a good deal of wear out of both of them
I must admit it was a lot for me going back and forth between the original dress and the fitted bodice add on, but I managed it and the resulting dress is adorable. I ordered the thinner elastic in 3/8, and I think that worked out because I was stretching it to the point where it turned into a string as it was. I'm happy to have learned that technique for gathering. Really like PE patterns.
