Love this top, the sleeve is really different to do, I’m an average sewer and I found the top really stress free. I made a toile out of calico and I love it so I’m going to dye it then I made a double gauze, love that too.
My first time using PE Patterns and I absolutely LOVE them. The instructions are the best I’ve ever seen, very detailed. I am an experienced sewist and I can’t tell you how some instructions assume you know everything. And the pattern design is very up to date on fashion trends. Will be buying more in the near future.
Welcome to the PE Patterns family Hillary! We're thrilled to hear that you loved the Be Mine Balloon Sleeve Top Thank you so much for your feedback regarding our instructions. Happy sewing, and we can't wait to see what you make next!
I don't normally like to sew with pattern as I always ended up spending time adjusting here and there. I have always been thinking of doing something with balloon sleeves especially one with uneven cuff, I had a hard time visualising how to construct it. One day, I came across this pattern, it is exactly what I have been wishing to do. So I bought the pattern. This pattern is really very well done, all the notches lined up precisely. I normally sew with 1.5 cm seam allowance as I like to do French seams. I know the seam allowance is 1 cm, it's me who is too lazy to add that extra 5mm. At the end I still managed to squeeze in my french seams. All went well and the fitting was good too, no adjustment needed. Since it was my first try, I used some leftover Indian indigo fabrics, I had to mix and match to get enough fabrics. The contrasting balloon sleeves look even better. My next challenge is to extend the bodice to make a A line dress with this lovely sleeves. Many thanks for such a lovely pattern.
It's gorgeous Jennie! I'm so happy you love it.
I love the detailed instructions (though it took a while to get through them) and smart design. I did find that it ran a *bit* large. My normal pattern size is 16, I made a 14 but could’ve made a 12. Next time!
I'm so glad you love the Be Mine Top Myrna! One of the things I love about sewing is being able to tweak things to suit my personal preference. Can’t wait to hear about your next one!
I love the fit of this t-shirt. The neckline finish is beautiful, too. I will definitely make more
Thank you for the 5-star review! We're delighted to hear you love the fit. Enjoy making more!
