THS IS A DIGITAL PDF SEWING PATTERN
Introducing the Chasing Butterflies Batwing Sewing Pattern. This pattern features a draped silhouette that tapers from dramatic batwing to fitted sleeves, creating a chic and comfortable look. It has a generous amount of intentional drape - an integral part of it's distinctive style. Sew a batwing top, sweater or jumper.
Choose from three lengths (hemmed or banded) and three necklines (crew, relaxed, and roll neck) to customise your garment. The body and sleeve are combined into one piece, making it a fast and easy sew.
The Chasing Butterflies pattern also includes two separate scarf options to sew—a cozy neck warmer and an infinity scarf—for added style. From stylish work attire to casual weekend wear, this pattern offers endless possibilities to stay fashionable and comfortable all year round.

The Chasing Butterflies Sweater sewing pattern is designed for 4-way stretch knit fabrics, ensuring both comfort and style in your creations.
You have the freedom to choose from a variety of fabric options, such as a brushed sweater knit for cozy warmth during colder seasons or a lightweight waffle knit for a breathable and stylish layer during the summer. The possibilities are endless!
FABRIC SUGGESTIONS (fabric must have stretch in both directions)
Sweater knit hacci (hatchi), merino wool, sweat-shirting, rib knit, double knit, waffle knit, liverpool, wool blends, jacquard knit, soft French terry, double brushed poly (DBP), single brushed poly (SBP), poly elastane knits, modal elastane, stretch lace, soft rib knits, stretch mesh (eg. Boo! Design), cotton lycra (think soft & light), cable knit, fluffy & brushed knits (eg. Lush Faux Alpaca or Cashmere).
Fabrics with heavy drape can be used but ensure you take the personality of that fabric into account. These include bamboo, rayon & viscose elastane.
Bulky fabrics or fabrics with lots of body can also be used. Again, you must take the personality of that fabric into account. If you’re expecting such a fabric to drape gently over the body, it will not.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: This garment has a generous amount of drape and extra fabric intentionally, as it is inherent to its unique style. Understanding the characteristics and qualities of your fabric is important. Fabrics known for their drape, such as bamboo, modal, rayon, and viscose, will have a looser feel when worn. Conversely, thicker fabrics might contribute to a bulkier appearance. Fabrics with low resilience can result in the final garment fitting larger on the body. Please consider these things when making your fabric choices.
Projector files for this pattern include multi-coloured and black size lines, large text and full pattern pieces. Plus centre fold lines so you can cut on the fold if needed.
