Create a new favourite in your wardrobe. This batwing sweater pairs relaxed shaping with effortless dressing.
It has a generous amount of intentional drape - an integral part of it's distinctive style. Sew a batwing top, sweater or jumper.
Choose from three lengths (hemmed or banded) and three necklines (crew, relaxed, and roll neck) to customise your garment. The body and sleeve are combined into one piece, making it a fast and easy sew.
The Chasing Butterflies pattern also includes two separate scarf options to sew—a cozy neck warmer and an infinity scarf—for added style.
From stylish work attire to casual weekend wear, this pattern offers endless possibilities to stay fashionable and comfortable all year round.
For a chic and contemporary look, pair it with our Slay All Day Skirt. To create a dramatic outfit for a night out or a romantic date night, combine the Chasing Butterflies Sweater with our Palazzo Pants.

I’ve made a couple of these tops for the winter season and I love how flowy and comfortable they are. It’s roomy enough to allow layering under with a short sleeve tee for extra warmth. Very quick to sew as well, with only the overlocker needed if you’re doing banded hems. 5 stars!
I made two versions of this too for a conference last week and they turned out wonderfully! This is very easy to sew, comfortable and fashionable!
Although, like others, I had to size down two sizes, the result is lovely. Just what I was looking for to display my memorial, beloved-cat sweater knit. I love it 💕 and intend to create more iterations.
I made the short sleeve version with the wider neck option in merino wool. Exactly what I was looking for.
The top is very pretty, but it keeps sliding to the back and you feel like you are being chocked. I would like to make another one, but am not sure how you can stop this from happening.
Virgina, sounds like you need a forward shoulder adjustment. You might recall that we chatted about this last year in the PE group. Simply take a small amount (7-10mm) off from front shoulder/top arm & add it to the back. -Kate
