THE TAPERED NECK TIE

The tie tapers from the front opening to the hem, with four lengths included (2 regular & 2 tall).

• Shorter length (in both height options) is perfect worn loose and sits just above the top’s hem when tied. It also works for a smaller bow.
  
• Longer length is ideal for a full bow or, worn loose, will sit below the hem but still shorter than the extra long top.

HOW IT FITS

This is a relaxed-fit blouse sewing pattern with a gently flared shape — not oversized.

The shoulder seam sits slightly forward and a touch wider than the natural shoulder. There’s no waist shaping, and the gathered back option adds extra ease through the body.

2 BACK OPTIONS

• Plain Back – clean and classic
• Gathered Back with Yoke – adds volume and a relaxed feel

2 SLEEVE OPTIONS

• Cap Sleeve - no hemming this adorable little sleeve.
• Flared Sleeve with Elastic Hem – creates soft gathers at wrist.

2 LENGTH OPTIONS

• Top Length – finishes around the hip bone.
• Extra Long Top – finishes around crotch height.

HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM THE LYRICAL?

• No buttons - easy pop-over style. Lyrical has a button-up front opening.
• Wider, tapered tie design. Lyrical has a narrow tie or collar.
• Different armhole to suit different sleeves. STT has a cap sleeve & gently flared sleeve with elastic at the wrist to gather it in. Lyrical has full puff sleeve with elastic hem & flounce. Shoulder is narrower to support this style of sleeve.
• Top & extra long top lengths.
• Similarities - they’re both tops for woven fabric and both feature a tie — though the ties themselves are very different in design.
