Description  

The Calypso Kaftan is your go-to summer pattern — perfect as a breezy beach or poolside cover-up, or sewn as an easy throw-on dress or top.

With multiple sleeve lengths and optional details such as an elastic-hem top, sash and drawstring, you can mix and match the features to create your own style. It’s quick to cut, simple to sew and a joy to wear.

FABRIC & TRIMS  

FABRIC TYPE: Designed for woven fabrics.

Your fabric needs drape. If it has any stiffness or a heavy body to it, it’s not going to fall nicely. My #1 recommendation is rayon. It just has such a lovely drape (make sure you prep-wash though). 

FABRIC SUGGESTIONS: Rayon, Cotton Voile, Silk & Silk-like fabrics, Linen & Linen Blends.

Please note that wearing a Kaftan is not a replacement for sunscreen as all fabrics differ in their sun protection properties.
