Fabric Edit | On Repeat Woven T-shirt (Part 1)
If there’s one pattern where fabric choice really gets to do the talking, it’s the On Repeat Woven T-shirt.
The shape itself is deliberately simple, which means changing the fabric can completely change the finished look. Soft & drapey, floaty, textured or with a little more body, each brings something different to On Repeat.
And with 2 silhouettes, 6 necklines & 5 sleeve options, there’s plenty of room to play.
Fabrics I have used above, from top left: Pink linen/viscose (Potter & Co). B/W rayon print (Tessuti), Reptile print silk crepe de chine (Tessuti). Safari lightweight linen (Remnant Warehouse). White lace panel cotton/nylon (Tessuti). Pink/blue crinkle viscose (Tessuti). White viscose/linen (East Coast Fabrics). Sage linen (East Coast Fabrics).
For this Fabric Edit, I’ve gathered together some makes from our team so you can see On Repeat sewn in a whole range of woven fabrics. I’ve included what they used, where they bought it (when we know), the options they chose and, most importantly, what they thought of the finished result. This is part 1 of 2 (there were a LOT of gorgeous sews).

Melanie - The polished everyday basic
Fabric: Rayon (Spotlight)

Sophie - A crisp white version
Fabric: Cotton, white embroidered

The cotton gives Sophie’s On Repeat more body & structure, showing just how differently the Gently Flared Top can look in a fabric with less drape.
Sophie - Go bold with print

Rachel - A little satin shine

Rachel prefers to wear her tops a little shorter, so chose the Regular Cropped length. The satin gives this simple shape a completely different look.

Fabric: 100% cotton, blue & pink floral
Details: Cropped Shell, Regular length, mid round neckline, Short Sleeve 1, Size 14 graded to Size 12 at the waist. Forward shoulder adjustment.

Allie - Add a statement sleeve
Fabric: Polyester, similar to a double georgette
Details: Cropped Shell, Tall length, boat neckline, Micro Vent hem, Size 8. Sleeve mashed with the Spill The Tea Top for a flared sleeve with elastic hem finish.
Allie took the simple Cropped Shell in a completely different direction by swapping in the statement sleeve from the Spill The Tea Top.
