♥ PRINTING YOUR PDF SEWING PATTERNS.
PHONE & TABLET:
As outlined above, if printing the pattern via phone or tablet, use the Sewsy App so you can access the layers & print to the correct scale.
DESKTOP & LAPTOP COMPUTER:
1. Open In Adobe Reader. To use the layers function in a PDF pattern, open the Print-At-Home pattern in Adobe Reader on a laptop or desktop computer. Visit our Help & Resources index for more information on layers.
This function isn't available on the phone or tablet version. As such, some customers recommend the Sewsy apps for layers functionality on a mobile device.
We recommend reading the tutorial off a device, rather than printing it. You can download & read your tutorial on any device.
2. Printer Settings. It's important to select the correct printer settings to ensure your pattern prints to the correct scale. You'll find printer specs in your tutorial &, for more detail, here on the website.
3. Page Printing Guide. You don’t need to print every page or size – just the ones you need. Our guide in the tutorial helps you identify exactly which pages to print.
4. Layout Summary. This shows what your print at home pattern will look like once assembled (taped together).
A0 COPY SHOP PRINTING:
Read the information provided in your tutorial as you may not need to print every page.
We recommend requesting plan printing and following the specs outlined in your tutorial & above (for at home printing). You can find our recommended printing specs on Menu > Help & Resources > Printing or here.
Use a recommended pdf pattern printer if you are new. They will know what to do when you don't. You can find them here or Menu > Help & Resources > Printing.
Printing at a copy shop is always going to be more expensive that printing at home.
See more info in the Help & Resources tab above this one or on the main menu here.

Sews up quickly, fancy but comfortable, a statement piece that can be easily casual.
First one I made for a more dressy occasion, (no picture) the second one I made using a thrifted night gown for a super soft everyday top.
I'm just starting to get back into sewing and serging again after a 5-year break, and I'm pleased to say that my first 3/4 sleeve t-shirt made from the Allure pattern was easy, thanks to the great pattern and directions! The pieces had to be shortened a little and the lines re-drawn to blend again, but that was simple to do. Now that I've found a pattern that works for me, I'll be experimenting with the bell sleeves as well!
These Bell sleeves are just wonderful and so simple to sew. Plus there's the added bonus that they are on the mashable sleeves list so I've now made a couple of lovely Go To Fit & Flare dresses with bell sleeves too.
My first time using a pdf pattern more time consuming than a normal pattern but now that I have it, it’s on sturdy paper for me to use again, and use it again i will, the instructions that come with it are sooooo much easier to follow than a traditional pattern and the pictures explaining everything I liken to a modern day recipe book where the cook gives you little tips along the way. My new too is really nice and I am definitely making it again. Wore it today for the first time and got 4 random compliments on it.
Hi Megan. Thank you for your wonderful review! It’s so great to hear that you enjoyed working with your first PDF pattern—definitely a different process from traditional patterns, but it sounds like you’ve mastered it! And I’m thrilled to hear the Allure Top was such a hit with all those compliments. Enjoy making more!
