Pattern Mash - Take The Chance Dress & Sweet Talker Bubble Sleeve

AMANDA'S TAKE THE CHANCE + SWEET TALKER PATTERN MASH

Amanda created this fabulous dress for Perth Frocktails by combining two Pattern Emporium patterns: the Take The Chance Shirt Dress and the Sweet Talker Bubble Sleeve Top.

She used the Take The Chance as the base, with its button-up front, collar and gathered tiered skirt, then swapped the original sleeve for the statement bubble sleeve from the Sweet Talker.

Amanda added a few extra details to make her Frocktails dress special: covered buttons, a covered belt and contrast pink trim along the collar and centre front.

The fabric is Garden Party linen from The Maker Society. Amanda had actually bought it before the Sweet Talker pattern was released and didn't have quite enough for the bubble sleeves. Luckily, she managed to get the last 60cm remnant and, in her words, “used every last bit!”

HOW TO MAKE THE MASH

This mash needs one small pattern adjustment before you start sewing.

The Take The Chance is in Group 1 of our woven sleeve swap guide, while the Sweet Talker is in Group 2. Because you're swapping a sleeve between the two groups, you'll need to transfer the Sweet Talker armhole onto the Take The Chance bodice.
