Meet your new favourite drapey skirt, the Turning Point Handkerchief Hem Skirt. This asymmetric midi skirt embodies effortless style & simplicity, with a modern handkerchief hemline.
Wear it with the drape at the side as drafted or, for a little extra drama & movement, swivelled toward the front or side-front.
Designed for stretch fabrics, it features a smooth, elasticated waistband and a hemline that forms soft, pointed drapes at the sides. Gently fitted through the waist, it flares from the hip with ease.

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS
This pattern is designed for stretch fabrics. You can use either 2-way or 4-way knits. Drapey fabrics are best but fabrics with body* can be used.
Minimum horizontal stretch is 40%.
Suggestions for Summer: Bamboo jersey, modal jersey, viscose jersey, rayon jersey, cotton lycra*, rib knits, poly knits, ITY, DTY.
Suggestions for Winter: Merino wool knit, wool blend knits, rib knit, single & double brushed poly, ponte*, double knit*, jacquard knit*.
Other: Stretch lace, stretch velvet.
*IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT FABRIC CHOICE: Heavy fabrics & full bodied fabrics like cotton lycra, ponte, double knits & jacquard knits are going to sit very differently on the body to drapey knits like bamboo, viscose & ITY. They will tend to sit away from the body more so keep this in mind when choosing your fabrics.
TRIMS: 38-40mm (1/5”) elastic. Can use plush, woven, non-roll or knitted.

PRINTING YOUR PDF SEWING PATTERNS.
At Pattern Emporium, most of our patterns include Print-at-Home, A0 Copy Shop, and Projector pattern files. Each listing specifies which formats are available for that particular pattern.
In each of our sewing pattern tutorials, you’ll find detailed information specific to that pattern's printing options.
1. Open In Adobe Reader. Ensure you open your pattern in Adobe Reader to print. To use the layers function, you must be on a laptop or desktop computer. This function isn't available on the phone or tablet version. Visit our Help & Resources index for more information on layers.
Note that some customers recommend the Xodo & Sewsy apps for layers functionality on a mobile device.
2. Printer Settings. It's important to select the correct printer settings to ensure your pattern prints to the correct scale. You'll find printer specs in your tutorial &, for more detail, here on the website.
3. Page Printing Guide. You don’t need to print every page or size – just the ones you need. Our guide in the tutorial helps you identify exactly which pages to print.
4. Layout Summary. This shows what your print at home pattern will look like once assembled (taped together).
5. A0 Copy Shop Printing. What to ask for when printing at a copy shop. We recommend requesting plan printing and following the specs outlined above. Please note, printing at a copy shop is always going to be more expensive that printing at home.
For reliable A0 printing in Australia, we recommend Kristen at Dahlia Sewciety & Shelley at Plan Make Do.
In the United States, our customers recommend PDF Plotting. In the United Kingdom, our customers recommend Fabulosew & Patternsy.
