THIS IS A DIGITAL PDF SEWING PATTERN

The Swing Shorts – 2 versatile patterns in one, perfect for woven fabrics.

Style 1: Sew a more tailored pair of shorts with a shaped waistband and back zip.

Style 2: Sew easy pull-on shorts with elastic waist.

Both designs flare beautifully from the waist, giving the look and feel of a playful circle skirt. You can even add (optional) pockets!

If you're after a pair of shorts that sit beautifully around the torso & swing out softly over the thighs, with no hugging in sight, this is the pair of shorts for you. Choose from a tailored or relaxed vibe.

MAIN FEATURES:

  • Shorts flare from waist to wide hem.
  • Resembles circle skirt... but are shorts.
  • Wide ‘swing’ leg openings.
  • 2 lengths: short & above the knee.
  • Waistband sits just below the natural waist.
  • Side seams cut on the bias.
  • Optional pockets.

STYLE 1: Tailored.

  • More tailored look.
  • Narrow shaped waistband.
  • Simple back zip.

STYLE 2: Relaxed.

  • Pull-on elastic waistband.
  • Quick & easy style to sew.

WHY ARE THESE SHORTS SO GREAT?

These shorts look a lot like a skirt with all the benefits of a pair of shorts.

Dressed up or down, they are the perfect compliment to your spring & summer wardrobe.

Playing in the park, doing the grocery shopping, having coffee with the girls or a date with someone special, the Ladies Swing Shorts are ideal. They are the beautifully feminine shorts that are easy to dress up for the office or a date or down for the park.  And they won't fly up & show your fancy knickers like a skirt will.

PRINTING YOUR PDF SEWING PATTERNS.

At Pattern Emporium, most of our patterns include Print-at-Home, A0 Copy Shop, and Projector pattern files. Each listing specifies which formats are available for that particular pattern.

In each of our sewing pattern tutorials, you’ll find detailed information specific to that pattern's printing options.

1. Printer Settings. It's important to select the correct printer settings to ensure your pattern prints to the correct scale. You'll find printer specs in your tutorial &, for more detail, here on the website.

2. Page Printing Guide. You don’t need to print every page or size – just the ones you need. Our guide in the tutorial helps you identify exactly which pages to print.

3. Layout Summary. This shows what your print at home pattern will look like once assembled (taped together).

4. A0 Copy Shop Printing. What to ask for when printing at a copy shop. We recommend requesting plan printing and following the specs outlined above. Please note, printing at a copy shop is always going to be more expensive that printing at home.

For reliable A0 printing in Australia, we recommend Kristen at Dahlia Sewciety & Shelley at Plan Make Do.

In the United States, our customers recommend PDF Plotting.
