We know you’ll appreciate the versatility of this design as one of its best features is the choice of textiles you can use. Essentially, there isn't a right or wrong choice because it works in both 2-way & 4-way stretch, making it ideally suited for every season.
You will soon discover that everything about the Unwind is relaxed: the fit, the cuffs and the hem band. It's designed to hang and move freely on the body, unlike the more hugging band styles with which you may be more familiar.
See the NEW POCKET ADD-ON instructions here. Use bundle code PEBUNDLE2 at checkout for 10% off when purchased together.

I do love this! It runs a bit large for me, and as Kate mentions - stretch is important! However, since my first was a bit large and my fabric had minimum stretch, it worked out!
So fast, addictive
A nice and quick pattern with a comfy fit
Love this pattern, although I did grade down towards the hem as I like it more fitted through the hip. I have made 4 garments now with various options (cuffs, no cuffs, hemband, no hemband, long sleeve, short sleeve) and find it's such a versatile pattern. Mashed the Besties v-neck for a v-neck jumper that is on high rotation. Just love it.
I'm about to start my third Unwind. I know it's supposed to be a really loose, slouchy garment, but I found it too loose and shapeless. I measure a size 18, but made it up in a size 14, and still found that too big. I didn't want to go to a smaller size as the relaxed neckline and length of sleeve were perfect, so just took in the sides, from the underarm area to the hem and reduced the band, to make the circumference 4" smaller. I really like the fit now, and so do my daughters. I love how easy this is to sew up, so super speedy. Fabric makes a lot of difference. My first make was a baby French Terry which was lovely and soft. My second make was cotton lycra which was far more structured. My third Unwind will be made from a very cosy waffle sweater knit, so should have lovely drape. I'm glad I made a toile/muslin first to check the fit.
I have made a few of these now. GreT instructions as usual and first time trying a hood. Ever!
